MAY 2009 RESULTS "SHOWDOWN AT THE RANCH" SETS THE STAGE FOR TWO ADDITIONAL EVENTS AT INDIAN RANCH IN MASSACHUSETTS"
On May 30, 2009, USKBA Action Sports Promoter Peter Rogers (Koba Ryu) ventured into a test event at a new venue. Indian Ranch, in Webster Massachusetts, has been widely acclaimed for its showcasing of the top Country Western and Popular singers and musicians. This time, the stage was set for a night of action sports. Promoter Rogers brought “SHOWDOWN AT THE RANCH” into this wonderful outdoor venue situated on a beautiful lake. The beauty of the venue was only outdone by the talent of the amateur fighters. With an assortment of demonstrations, exhibitions and scored bouts, “SHOWDOWN AT THE RANCH” clearly passed the test. With high accolades from fighters, fans and the venue owners, this event set the stage for two additional events at Indian Ranch this year. UFC Fighter Huston Alexander and USKBA Action Sports Promoter Charlie Sampalis were on hand to witness the action. As the sun slowly set on the lake behind the ring, “SHOWDOWN AT THE RANCH” opened with an assortment of Martial Art demonstrations. This was followed by exhibitions and amateur bouts in Submission Grappling, Thaiboxing, Full Contact Kickboxing, Boxing and MMA. Grappling Exhibition (2 three-minute rounds) -  Jesse Marden vs Billy Sedlmeier USKBA Amateur MMA Super Middleweight Division (3 three-minute rounds) -  Jonathan Buchspies (165.5 lbs) def Jason Miller (166.5 lbs) by submission (rear naked choke) at 1:45 of Round 1. USKBA Amateur Thaiboxing Female Bantamweight Division (3 two-minute rounds) -  Brandy Young (131.0 lbs) def Andrea Bereck (132.5 lbs) by TKO (referee stoppage) in Round 2. Full Contact Kickboxing Exhibition (3 two-minute rounds) -  George Giovanis vs Winston Pena MMA Exhibition (3 three-minute rounds) -  Manuel Crespo vs Jarrid Heon USKBA Amateur Thaiboxing Light Heavyweight Division (3 two-minute rounds) -  Robert Jones (170.5 lbs) def Jason Kachnowski (163.5 lbs) by TKO (referee stoppage) at 1:14 of Round 2.
